U9s Girls Football

The U9 girls football festival took place at Marjon University with 6 teams taking part. It was a round robin format, so everyone had the opportunity to play each other. The weather was dry but rather cold, this didn’t stop the girls eagerly awaiting their fixtures. Games were 12 minutes long and teams played with 7 on a pitch at once. There was some brilliant football on display and some very exciting games. The final standings could not be decided until after the whistle of the final fixture that was between Leigham and Bickleigh Down. This game was hard fought and ended with Leigham winning 2-1 which put them as champions, congratulations to them and well done to everyone who took part. A massive thank you to Marjon University for the facilities and Sir John Hunt and Notre Dame for providing great referees who completed their refereeing course last week.
